  • Naranjilla Update

    It’s been a while since I updated pics uof my naranjilla plants. 
    Right now I’m fighting with aphids.  They *love* naranjillas.
       Anyway, I haven’t figured out how to get rid of the
    aphids, yet.  I have 3×5 index cards with vaseline on them, which
    was suggested to me, and I spray them with soapy water, but it doesn’t
    seem to affect the little guys   ANY suggestions would be
    welcomed!

    The Pululahua “Rock from the Volcano” Festival

    El Festival “Pululahua, Rock desde el Volcán” fue el Primer Festival
    realizado en el interior del cráter de un volcán en la historia del
    Hombre.

    Se desarrolló del 13 y al 16 de febrero de 1999,
    durante 12 horas diarias, en el volcán Pululahua cerca de la ciudad de
    Quito, Ecuador, con la participación de 48 artistas y bandas de Latinoamérica, Estados Unidos y Europa.

    La Ciudad entregó a los artistas una estatuilla bautizada como
    “Piedra Pululahua”, nombrándolos Padrinos Espirituales del nacimiento
    de la tradición “Rock desde el Volcán”: un compromiso in situ de
    promover la conciencia universal de nuestra relación con el Medio
    Ambiente y la riqueza ecológica del Volcán Pululahua y del Ecuador.

    The
    “Pululahua Rock from the Volcano” was the first festival in the history
    of man, to be held in the interior of a volcanic crater.

    It was held from the 13th to the 16th of February
    of 1999, during 12 hours a day, in the crater of Pululahua, close to
    the city of Quito, Ecuador, with the participation of 48 artists and bands from Latin America, the United States, and Europe.


    The city gave the artists
    a small statue baptized as “Rock Pululahua” naming them the Spiritual
    birth fathers of the “Rock from the Volcano” tradition:  a means
    of bringing to universal consciousness our relationship with the
    environment and the rich ecology of the volcano Pululahua, and Ecuador.
